Before the tram, people would drive to work, eat their lunch at their desk and drive home. Now, because the city centre environment is so much better because of the tram and less traffic, people come to work in the tram, and go out to eat more often at lunchtime. And they also go to the shops, do other things during the day. That's where the extra trip on foot comes from.
